Best Keto BBQ Sauce: 2026 Comparison

The lowest-carb, keto-friendly BBQ sauces in our database, ordered by total sugars and total carbs with the label data we could verify.

By BBQ Sauce Scout editors Updated 2026-05-27 How we test

Mainstream BBQ sauce is built on sugar. A two-tablespoon serving of a Kansas City-style sauce can carry 12 to 16 grams of it. The sauces below are tagged keto in our database because their labels show no added sugar, no high-fructose corn syrup, and most carry an explicit “low carb” claim.

How we picked

We surface sauces with the keto or low-carb diet tag, then sort by total sugars (lowest first). Any sauce that lacks verified or OCR-captured ingredient data is excluded, because we cannot confirm what the label says without seeing the label. Sauces with missing nutrition data are also excluded.

How to read the table

The Sugars column shows grams per the brand’s stated serving (usually 2 tablespoons). “n/a” means the brand has not published a number we could verify - those sauces fall to the end. The sauce detail page lists total carbs and sweeteners; sugar alcohols, allulose, and stevia are not the same thing, and the detail page distinguishes them.

Watch the sweeteners, not just the sugar

A “sugar free” label can still leave you with 10 grams of carbs from maltitol. Erythritol and allulose are the gentlest. Stevia and monk fruit are usually fine but can taste medicinal in a thick sauce. The brands above are mostly using a combination, and the detail page tells you which.

Final note

Formulations change. Always confirm against the current label on the official product page before you buy in volume.

Frequently asked questions

Is BBQ sauce keto?
Most mainstream BBQ sauces are not keto. They are sugar-forward and carry 5 to 16 grams of sugar per two-tablespoon serving. The sauces in this list are tagged keto in our database because their published labels show low or zero added sugar.
What is the lowest-carb BBQ sauce?
Within our verified set, the lowest-carb options come from G Hughes, Rufus Teague Slim 'N Sweet, and the Primal Kitchen unsweetened line. The table above is sorted to surface the lowest-sugar entry first; combine that with the carbs column on the sauce detail page.
Are sugar alcohols keto?
Sugar alcohols affect blood sugar less than sucrose but are not zero. Erythritol and allulose are usually well tolerated on keto. Maltitol is not. Check the ingredient list on the linked sauce page before committing.
How much BBQ sauce can I have on keto?
A typical 2 tablespoon serving of a properly keto sauce is 0 to 3 grams of net carbs. If you stay under 20 to 30 grams of net carbs a day, you can usually fit two servings into a meal.
