BBQ sauce is one of the easier carb leaks in the American pantry. A typical 2-tablespoon Kansas City-style serving carries 14-18 grams of sugar; the sauces below run between 0 and 5 grams. This page shows sugar AND total carbs side by side, because a "0 g sugar" sauce can still carry 20 grams of carbs from sugar alcohols like maltitol that do raise blood glucose. The narrative explanation lives on the best diabetic BBQ sauce guide; this page is the raw leaderboard.

Why this page shows both sugar and total carbs

A label can claim "sugar-free" if the per-serving sugar number rounds to less than 0.5 grams. That leaves room for the recipe to contain 15-20 grams of sugar alcohols, fiber, or other carbs. For most blood-glucose tracking, the total-carbs number is the one that matters most. Maltitol in particular spikes blood glucose almost as much as sucrose; allulose, erythritol, stevia, sucralose, and monk fruit do not. We show both columns so the reader can pick on the metric that matches their plan.

Method

We start from our sauce database, drop any sauce whose ingredient data is missing or unverified, drop any sauce without a published sugar number, then keep only those tagged sugar-free, low-carb, or keto. The result is sorted ascending by total sugars per stated serving. Ties resolve on slug for build reproducibility. Each row links back to the source label so every number is auditable.
