Method
We start from our sauce database, drop any sauce whose ingredient data is missing or unverified, then keep only sauces whose published ingredient list (a) has non-empty content and (b) contains neither "tomato" nor "ketchup", case-insensitive. Ranking is by Bayesian-shrunk web-consensus rating with a prior weight of 10 (a sauce needs roughly ten reviews before its own average meaningfully outweighs the catalog mean). Ties resolve on slug.
Note for buyers with diagnosed tomato allergy: always re-check the manufacturer's current label. Recipes change. Cross-contamination at production is a separate question we cannot answer from a label transcription.
